G’Day All,
Last year I did the 4.5km Bridge to Brisbane and raised over $500 in much needed funds for the Salvation Army, this year I’ve entered the 10KM Bridge to Brisbane run hopefully, twice the distance will raise twice the money…
If you have been in any of the Defence or Emergency services, soaked to the bone, frozen to the core and up to your butt in very angry crocodiles, homeless or with simply no-one else to turn to; when out of no-where, someone handed you a hot cuppa, a biscuit, a helping hand and a soothing word, chances were it was the "Sally-man or Sally-lady".
The "Salvo's" have quietly been working behind the scenes in Australia since 1880 and do great work. It will be my honour to attempt to raise some funds and repay them for those many hot cuppas, biscuits and soothing words that brought some comfort to a young soldier and many of his mates all those years ago.
